Managing Map Objects¶
Map Objects include all visible objects or features on the map that are relevant to the end user, including “Points of Interest”, map content such as “Walls,” “Utility Rooms,” “Floorplan Outlines,” and more.
There are three main types of Map Objects:
POIs (point-of-interest) | Obstacles | Other map elements |
---|---|---|
Interactive, searchable map features that users can navigate to, enriched with details like descriptions and keywords for easy information retrieval. | Mark un-walkable areas like walls, furniture, and virtual barriers for smoother user wayfinding, directing them around obstacles efficiently. | Encompass various visual components on a map like stairs, aisles, and atriums for better-looking and user-friendly Pointr Maps. |
Note
Pointr Cloud offers approx. 297 predefined Map Object types for workplaces, retail, healthcare, and aviation. For customization options, contact your Project Manager for assistance or consult the Pointr Taxonomy Table for more details.
